Why Consider a Debriefing Retreat?

Many missionaries find themselves carrying stories and experiences that are difficult to process alone. Debriefing creates the opportunity for inner healing as you examine your experiences through the lens of the cross, inviting Christ to speak into the areas of your life and ministry where you most need His presence.

The Exchange at the Cross™ Model

Personal Debriefing Retreats using the “Exchange at the Cross” model are run by Le Rucher debriefers in various locations around the world each year. This retreat is unique in that it combines both group and personal sessions. A special synergy happens when participants interact with others who have gone through similar experiences in different countries. Combining group interaction with individual time with a debriefer gives you the much-needed opportunity to grow, learn, and reflect on your personal journey as a cross-cultural worker.

You will be given space to reflect on your reactions to the events of your life and how you have been affected—including disappointments, conflicts, and changes. You will have the opportunity to bring closure where needed and bring pressing issues into the presence of God in a safe, peaceful environment. This five-day model follows the example of Jesus’ encounter with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, where He asked, “What has happened?” and gave them the gift of telling their story.

WHAT YOUR RETREAT INCLUDES

Your retreat cost covers the full experience: personal sessions with trained Le Rucher debriefers, plenary sessions for worship, teaching, and general feedback, time to reflect on your life events and how you’ve been affected, and the opportunity to bring closure where needed in the presence of God. Debriefing is provided from a Christian, Biblically-based worldview by pastoral care workers trained in debriefing skills. Accommodation, meals, and support services are all included.

Investment: $800 per person | $1,300 per couple (includes accommodation, meals, and all debriefing sessions)

This quiet hillside location provides a secluded environment away from ministry demands, creating the perfect atmosphere for reflection, rest, and meaningful conversations with God and others who truly understand your journey.

Le Rucher Ministries has been serving missionaries since 1994. Over the past 30 years, they have debriefed thousands of workers at Le Rucher and through their trained facilitators around the world, while equipping hundreds in their Biblical model of debriefing.

All our retreat debriefers are trained in the Le Rucher “Exchange at the Cross” model, bringing professional skill combined with personal cross-cultural experience.

Additional Retreats Scheduled by Demand

Beyond our scheduled April retreat, we coordinate additional debriefing retreats and one-on-one sessions throughout the year based on applications received. When multiple workers apply with similar timing preferences, we create retreat opportunities to serve them.
